Tank Info

The range of E/One collection tanks is such to satisfy a number of different ground conditions, existing drainage configurations, and desired operational volumes. All tanks are designed by E/One and manufactured locally in Australia by contract moulders.

The tank design is such to meet relevant AS/NZ standards (AS/NZS 1546.1:2008) and are certified by SAI Global to that standard. Above and beyond the standard, the tanks are also subjected to a test regime from the National Sanitary Foundation (NSF) which includes extensive deep burial and large hydro static loads.

Designs are certified by finite element analysis (FEA) along with routine batch testing. Finally, the tanks are designed to withstand the non-intended abuse they will unfortunately face during transport and installation. Though the E/One installation instructions specify that the tanks should not be dropped, rolled, flipped, etc., experience has shown that installation contractors do not always follow the rules. E/One has specifically chosen to build additional robustness into the design to add a level of reasonable resistance to any unintended abuse. These tanks carry a hydro static flange or integrally moulded flange to hold the tank down in place when in a situation when flotation due to hydro static uplift from a high water table is possible. Specifically, the standard requires an anchor collar at least 65 mm wide and 6 mm thick. For vertical cylindrical tanks, the flange must be fixed and not more than 300 mm from the base. This flange must be strong enough to withstand the force of 1.5 times the displaced volume of the tank.

The E/One tank design exceeds these requirements in all models. The integrated ballast flange also serve to act as a stable base for the tank which allows the tank to be freestanding which assists in manufacture, transportation and installation of the tank.
